The context

IJ Global is a data-rich SaaS platform that provides extensive information on global Infrastructure & Energy projects. It is a critical tool for professionals who need to analyse complex datasets related to infrastructure, and it has a well-established subscriber base.

It is part of the product suite by Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, a leading business and financial information company, which was acquired in November 2022 by Astorg and Epiris and renamed Delinian in 2023.

The problem

IJ Global faced new competition in the market, challenging its position. The existing platform struggled with the complexity of its interface, which did not effectively cater to all their user types.

The objective

The goal was to redesign the user interface to simplify interactions for all users while preserving the functionality needed by more advanced subscribers. Additionally, transitioning to a gated revenue model was a critical objective, requiring a strategic and carefully planned approach.

The result

  • The prototypes were successfully tested with customers, confirming the usability of the new search features.
  • The front-end framework and UI design system facilitated a smoother workflow for the internal team and ensured consistency across the platform.
